Clarke, Donaldson, Della Rocca To Compete at World U20 Championships in Peru

PRINCETON, NJ - The Princeton Men's Track and Field squad is riding the momentum of the postseason success onto the global level. On top of the historic triple crown in the 2023-2024 season, the Tigers are celebrating an exceptional season marked by the remarkable achievements of three talented freshmen who have earned their place at the World U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
Xavier Donaldson capitalized on his success from winning the individual Outdoor Ivy Heps title in the 400 meters and competed at the USA U20 Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Building off of the energy of the historic Hayward Field, Donaldson soared into the finals with a time of 47.22. In the finals, Donaldson set a new lifetime best of 46.23 to finish 5th overall and booked his ticket to Lima, Peru representing the USA for the first time in his career.
Jackson Clarke, the reigning 100 meter and 200 meter Outdoor Ivy Heps champion, is also set to compete in the World U20 Championships. Clarke will represent Guyana and will be a noticeable standout in the short sprints going up against some of the best athletes at the world junior level.
Zach Della Rocca makes it three Tigers competing on the world stage. Della Rocca is set to represent Australia at the World U20 Championships as well. As the Ivy League Record Holder in the 60 meter dash, Della Rocca will look to make a noticeable impact on Australia's short sprints squad.
These three freshman phenoms are eager to extend their postseason triumphs as they embark on their debut international appearances. The World U20 Championships, scheduled from August 27th to 31st, promise to unveil the next generation of global athletic stars in Lima, Peru.
