Mead '17 And Masters '15 Advance To Olympic Final In Men's Four

A pair of Princeton alumni were matched up against each other in the opening heats of the Men's Four at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and both took care of business to reach the Olympic Final.
Nick Mead '15 rowed for the United States and Timothy Masters '15 was in the boat for Australia as the second heat of the 4- began at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, and each were part of crews which laid down performances worthy of reaching the A final which will be held on August 1 at 6:10 a.m. EST.
Mead was in the bow seat for Team USA which led the whole way, finishing first in a time of 6:04.95.
Masters was also in the bow seat for Australia which was second behind the Americans in 6:06.84.
Host France was third in the heat in 6:07.52, while Switzerland was fourth in 6:10.86. Those two crews will row in a repechage race to try and earn their way into the Olympic Final.
New Zealand was the top qualifier overall, claiming the first heat in 6:03.08. Great Britain took the second transfer spot by finishing in second place in a time of 6:05.63.
