Mena Scatchard Named Ivy League Athlete of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – After taking first place in the New Jersey Jam on Friday, Princeton's Mena Scatchard was named the Ivy League Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Scatchard completed the 4k race with a time of 14:01.6, leading Princeton to a first place team victory with 28 points. The meet was hosted by Princeton and featured a field of five teams.
As the New Jersey Jam marked the Tigers' first meet, this is Scatchard's first Ivy League Athlete of the Week honor this season.
Now entering her senior year, Scatchard's award adds to a long list of career accolades. Scatchard was named to the Second Team All-Ivy in cross country in 2023. She is also the 2024 Ivy League Indoor Champion in the 1000m, a 2024 Second Team All-Ivy honoree in the outdoor 1500m, and a 2024 USTFCCCA T&F All-Academic honoree.
Scatchard also holds the Princeton record in the indoor 1000m 2:43.23, 2024) and the outdoor 1500m (4:11.10, 2024).
After starting the season on a high note, Scatchard and the Tigers will be back in action again on Friday, September 13 at the Spiked Shoe Invite hosted by Penn State.
