PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton men's tennis team is set to head to the ITA Kickoff in Columbus, Ohio from Jan. 25-26. The Tigers will first take on Denver on Saturday at 1:00 PM. The team will then face either No. 3 Ohio State or Louisville with the consolation match scheduled for 9:00 AM and the championship match for 12:00 PM.
Princeton is coming off a 3-0 weekend to start the season after earning wins over Notre Dame, DePaul and Wisconsin.
The Tigers won all three doubles points and ended the weekend with a combined score of 16-5.
Fnu Nidunjianzan and Landon Ardila both went undefeated in singles across each of their three singles matches, as Ardila won all of his matches in straight sets.
The Tigers and Denver Pioneers most recently battled in the Garden State in 2017 with the home team taking the victory 5-2. Denver comes into the contest at 3-0 with wins over UC Davis, Air Force and Montana State.
Princeton and Ohio State have met just once in program history back in 1984 where the Tigers earned a 7-2 win. The Buckeyes enter the ITA Kickoff weekend 2-0 with two 4-0 victories over Xavier and Toledo.
If the two teams match up, this will be the first ever meeting between Princeton and Louisville. The Cardinals own a 4-0 record thanks to two wins over Eastern Kentucky and one a piece against Northwestern and Xavier.
