January 24, 2025 | Women's Ice Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J.- The No. 13 Princeton women's hockey team was back at home for its first game since Dec. 12. The Tigers faced the Brown Bears for an ECAC Friday night matchup. Just two minutes and 50 seconds into the contest, Sarah Paul got the Tigers on the board on a rocket of a shot.
The Tigers' keeper Jennifer Olnowich made 14 stops in net to keep Brown off the board in the first period.
The Bears were able to tie things up in the second on a goal from Ava DeCoste.
Princeton drew a penalty and the Tigers were on the power play. The Bears had other plans as Margot Norehad picked off the pass and went down to score the shorthanded goal.
With just under six minutes to play in regulation, Princeton was back and pushing the pressure. Katherine Khramtsov slid the pass over to Paul for the equalizer and set the score at 2-2.
The game went into the overtime period, the third at Hobey Baker Rink this season. The Bears earned a power play to start the extra time. Princeton successfully killed off the penalty as both teams were unable to find the back of the goal.
In the shootout, the first four attempts for each team were unsuccessful before Brown's Ella Muralt scored to secure the shootout win.
Princeton will be back at Baker Rink tomorrow for a Saturday afternoon contest against the Yale Bulldogs. Puck drop is set for 3:00 PM.
