
No. 24 Men’s Swimming & Diving Set For Annual H-Y-P Meet

PRINCETON, N.J.- The men's swimming and diving team has turned its focus to the highly anticipated tri-meet between No. 23 Harvard, Yale and Princeton. This will serve as the first time both the men's and women's teams will compete in the same meet, setting the stage for a showdown of the three remaining squads that are undefeated in conference competition. The meet will begin on Jan. 31st with diving kicking off at 1:00 PM and swimming events at 4:00 PM. H-Y-P will then conclude with Saturday, Feb. 1st's events. Diving is set for 10:00 AM and swimming for 1:00 PM

Matt Crispino's squad was ranked No. 24 in the January CSCAA poll.The team was last ranked in the November poll and came in at No. 25. The Tigers are one of just two Ivy League teams in the top 25, coming in just one spot behind the Harvard Crimson.
Hot Schott
Mitchell Schott has been on a mission this season. The junior captain broke his own record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:32.78 at the season opener and it was full steam ahead from there. Schott broke the program record in the 100 freestyle at the Big Al Invitational before going on to set new program records in both the 500 and 1000 freestyles at Princeton's tri-meet against Kenyon and Navy. Schott now holds four individual records and is in the top 10 in seven events.
Big Swims At Big Al
Matt Crispino's squad broke a whopping five records at the Big Al Invitational. The 400 freestyle relay team of Mitchell Schott, Brett Feyerick, Tyler Hong and Patrick Dinu swam a monster 2:49.93 for a new program record. Schott had himself a weekend breaking the program record in the 100 freestyle coming in at 42:44 and broke the pool record in the 400 medley with a time of 3:40.69. Dinu broke another freshman record, this time in the 200 freestyle relay when he swam a 19.61. Hong's 200 backstroke record was broken in the prelims by Parker Lenoce on the final day of the three-day meet after he swam a 2:42.51. Just one heat later, Hong took back the record when he shaved off almost a full second with a time of 1:41.57.
Spectacular Seniors
This weekend the Tigers will honor the class of 2025 which includes George Callanan, Finn Dowdall, Brett Feyerick, Tyler Hong, Max Hunger, Hunter Kim, Zev Schuman and Max Seidel.
Pool Records To Princeton
Five pool records were broken by members of the Princeton swimming & diving roster at Columbia. Yanning Zhang, Patrick Dinu, Logan Noguchi and Brett Feyerick set a new 200 medley relay record with a time of 1:29.94. Zhang broke an individual record in the 100 backstroke and touched the wall at 47.13. Dinu followed suit in the 100 freestyle coming in at 42.91. Mitch Schott broke the pool record in the 200 butterfly by 5.5 seconds and his 1:42.22 is the second fastest time in program history. The day was wrapped up with the finishing touches in the 400 freestyle by the team of Schoot, Zhang, Noguchi and Dinu with a time of 2:54.26.
Romanian Rocket
Patrick Dinu quickly made waves in his first ever collegiate meet on Nov. 9. The freshman broke both a freshmen and program record in the season opener at DeNunzio Pool. He recorded a time of 42.51 in the 100 freestyle for the program record and a 53.49 in the 100 breaststroke for the freshmen record.
Wang's Winning Ways
Aidan Wang continues to lead the way for Princeton on the boards. The sophomore has swept both diving events on the 1-meter and 3-meter at every meet this season. Wang advanced to the finals on the 3-meter at the USA Diving Winter Nationals.
2023-24 NCAA Qualifiers
Aidan Wang, Luca Fassi and George Callanan represented the men's swimming and diving team at the NCAA Championships. Wang and Fassi competed on 1-Meter and 3-Meter and Callanan on platform.
All-Ivy
The Tigers return eight members of their 2023-24 roster that earned All-Ivy honors. The First Team included Aidan Wang (1-meter and 3-meter) and Noah Sech (400 individual medley). Tyler Hong picked up Second Team honors in the 200 individual medley. Brett Feyerick, Mitchell Schott, Daniel Li and Lucas Tudoras were Second Team All-Ivy in the 400 freestyle relay. Schott, Sech, and Max Hunger were part of the Second Team All-Ivy 800 freestyle relay.
Olympic Moments
Princeton had swimmers and divers from 12 different countries compete at the Olympic trials. Yanning Zhang (Australia), Lucas Tudoras (Brazil), Parker Lenoce (Canada), Lucas Strøbeck (Denmark), Rasmus Makela (Finland), Santiago Gutierrez (Mexico), Patrick Dinu (Romania), Max Seidel (Switzerland), Arthur Balva (United States), Devyn Caples (United States), Luca Fassi (United States), Brett Feyerick (United States), Tyler Hong (United States), Daniel Li (United States), Conor McKenna (United States), Mitchell Schott (United States), Noah Sech (United States) Aidan Wang (United States), and Andrew Zou (United States) all pursued bids for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
Adell Sabovic represented Kosovo in the 100 meter freestyle and was the flag bearer in the closing ceremony.
New Kids On Deck
The Tigers welcome in 10 members of the class of 2028. Tomaz Chevres, Santiago Gutierrez, Patrick Dinu, Max Marcus, Logan Noguchi, Devyn Caples, Curan Palmer, Conan Chen, Benjamin Romig and Andrew Zou round out the group.
