The opening whistle was a few moments away, and Princeton field hockey freshman Caitlin Thompson was not on the field. She was in the team tent, looking for her stick

As it turned out, it took her longer to find her stick than it did the back of the cage.

Thompson scored 58 seconds into the game for her first career goal and then added another 32 seconds into the second quarter to lead No. 8 Princeton to a 4-0 win over Dartmouth in Hanover. The win improved the Tigers to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the Ivy League.

In addition to Thompson, Princeton also got goals from reigning Ivy Offensive Co-Player of the Week Pru Lindsey to make it a 3-0 game at the break and then a fourth from Molly Nye in the third quarter. Beth Yeager assisted on Thompson's first goal and Lindsey's goal, giving her 31 assists for her career, moving her from 10th to seventh all-time at Princeton.

The Tigers outshot Dartmouth 22-4, requiring Olivia Caponiti to make only one save for the shutout.

Princeton left Dartmouth for Logan Airport and a flight to Chicago and bus to Evanston, where the Tigers will take on No. 1 Northwestern Monday.
