Ivy League Honors Shelby Burriss As Rookie Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its weekly awards Monday, and Shelby Burriss of the Princeton University women's volleyball team was honored as Rookie of the Week.
Burris helped lead Princeton to a weekend sweep, first taking down Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire, 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-15), on Oct. 10 then Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 3-1 (25-15, 26-24, 21-25, 25-16), on Oct. 11.
Burriss becomes the third Princeton player named Ivy Rookie of the Week, after Olivia Foye garnered the accolade on Sept. 29 and Taylor Clarke on Sept. 8. Burris compiled 26.5 points and averaged 3.57 kills-per-set on a .568 hitting percentage and had three blocks. She recorded six kills, hit .5000 and added two boocks on Oct. 10 at Dartmouth then recorded a career-high 19 kills on a .593 hitting percentage and on block on Oct. 11 at Harvard.
