First Career Goal, Shutout Net Johnson Ivy Defensive Weekly Honors
October 20, 2025 | Women's Soccer
Julia Johnson's first career goal came with less than a half-hour to go in the Princeton women's soccer team's game at Dartmouth on Saturday, helping grow the Tiger lead to 2-0, and at the other end, Johnson played all 90 minutes on the back line to help seal the shutout and deliver Princeton three big Ivy League points.
For Johnson's efforts, the league's coaches voted the rookie the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week.
Johnson has played the full 90 minutes in eight straight games, including back-to-back Ivy shutouts of Cornell and Dartmouth to help propel the team into the top half of the league standings and with a shot at the Ivy League title over the next two weeks.
Johnson and the Tigers will host Lehigh on Tuesday night before returning to Ivy play with a visit from Columbia on Saturday.
