Princeton Has Seven Named NFHCA All-Region
December 03, 2025 | Field Hockey
The NCAA runner-up Princeton field hockey team was more than the sum of its parts during its magical ride in 2025. Still, those parts that made up this team were pretty impressive in their own right.
The individual honors that continue to pour in for the Tigers is a tribute to that. The latest award announced was the NFHCA All-Region teams, and Princeton had seven players earn that represented. Of that group, there was five who were named first-team, with two second-teamers.Â
The five who were voted as first-team picks were junior goalie Olivia Caponiti, junior midfielder Ella Cashman, sophomore defender Clem Houlden, junior defender Ottilie Sykes and senior midfielder Beth Yeager. The two on the second team were sophomore forward Pru Lindsey and freshman forward Caitlin Thompson.Â
Next up on the awards calendar will be the announcement Thursday of the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, followed by the five Regional Players of the Year on Dec. 11. NFHCA All-American will be announced Dec. 16, with the national Player of the Year to follow two days later.Â
Should Yeager become a first-team All-American, she would be the first Ivy League player ever to earn that honor four times.Â
Princeton finished the season 18-4 and then won the Ivy League tournament championship before defeating Fairfield, Syracuse and Harvard to reach the NCAA final, where it fell to Northwestern 2-1 in two OTs.
