Atkinson Sets 300m Record as Women's Track & Field Competes at Penn Opener

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – With Maisha Atkinson setting a new program record in the 300m dash, the Princeton women's track and field team opened the indoor season with the Penn Opener on Saturday.
Atkinson, running the 300m in just 38.94, set a new personal record and claimed second place at the meet. Her time bested the previous Princeton record of 39.04, set by Jazmyn Singh last year.
Also in the 300m, Delia Gregory took fifth place, running 39.66, while Georgina Scoot also set a new PR of 40.15.
Making her debut, first-year Elizabeth Yeboah-Kodie took first place in the 60m, running 8.43. Julia Jongejeugd was behind her in third with a time of 8.62.
Angela McAuslan-Kelly won the weight throw, setting a meet record with a mark of 19.45m / 63-9.75. Jana Ter Wee also set new PR in the event, throwing 16.96m / 55-7.75.
Alyssa Carrigan won the high jump, setting a new PR and meet record of 1.81m / 5-11.25. Her mark also tied the Princeton program record. Audrey Kirkutis, clearing 1.72m / 5-7.5, was also under the previous meet record.
Makenna Marshall took second in shot put with a mark of 14.68m / 48-2.
The Tigers will now look ahead to the new year, when they will take the track again for the Navy Dual on Jan. 10.
