
Men's Basketball Downs Brown, 69-49

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team held Brown to a season-low 49 points Saturday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium as the Tigers earned a 20-point victory over the Bears, 69-49.
Senior Blake Peters scored 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field and 4-for-6 from three. His 178 career three-pointers rank No. 7 all-time at Princeton. Junior Caden Pierce recorded his 27th career double-double with 13 points, a game-high 10 rebounds along with a game-high five assists. Sophomore Jackson Hicke added nine points on 4-for-7 shooting, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
While Brown took a slight 11-10 advantage, a layup by Hicke ignited a 10-0 run that saw the Tigers surge ahead, 20-11, with 9:55 on the clock. The Bears responded with a pair of baskets, but a layup by Pierce led another 10-0 run that gave Princeton a 30-16 advantage following Peters' third three-pointer of the half at 5:40. Freshman Jack Stanton buried a three-pointer with 1:09 left in the half and the Tigers took a 14-point advantage into halftime, 37-23.
Brown opened the second half on a 10-0 run of its own, but a three-point play by Hicke followed by a Stanton three-pointer kept the Tigers ahead by double figures, 43-33, with 14:47 remaining. A pair of Lee layups then a Lee free throw extended the Tigers lead to 12 with 11:32 on the clock, 48-36.
With 7:30 left to play, A three-pointer by Lee sparked a 9-0 run that increased Princeton's advantage to 16, 59-43, with 5:15 left to play. Senior Darius Gakwasi buried a three-pointer with 0:20 on the clock and the Tigers would go on to earn the 69-49 triumph.

Junior Xaivian Lee finished with a team-high 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting and had seven rebounds and four assists. Lee also made his 100th career three-pointer, as he connected on two on the night. Lee moved to No. 12 all-time in school history for most assists in a season, having now handed out 114 in 2024-25."We needed to bounce back today.
