LOOSE ENDS
Princeton enters this weekend with a 41-73-12 record all-time against RPI, including a 19-43-6 record in Troy. The last meeting between the two teams was a 6-2 Princeton win at Baker Rink in December. David Ma and Brendan Gorman each had two goals in the game, a contest Princeton led 4-0 after two periods. The last trip to Troy was a 6-4 Tigers win in December of 2023. The Tigers are 28-43-9 all-time against Union, including a 9-27-5 record in Schenectady. Earlier this season, Luc Pelletier and Noah de la Durantaye scored in the second period for Princeton en route to a 2-1 win over the Garnet Chargers at Baker Rink. Arthur Smith made nine saves in each period on his way to a 27-save win.

PROVE IT ALL NIGHT
Princeton will be playing its 15th game of the season against a team currently ranked or receiving votes in the current USCHO Poll when it takes on Union Saturday night. The Tigers are 4-10 against teams ranked or receiving votes, including a pair of wins over current No. 9 Ohio State. To this date, 10 of Princeton's 11 total losses have come to teams ranked or receiving votes in this week's national poll.
I'M ON FIRE
Brendan Gorman enters the week with 17 points (7g, 10a) over his last 17 games and leads the Tigers overall with 21 points in 23 games. After having a five-game point streak snapped last Friday, he responded with a goal and an assist against St. Lawrence on Saturday. He has 8 total points (3g, 5a) over his last seven games.
He has two short-handed goals this season, 2nd in the ECAC and 6th in the country. This season, he is averaging 0.9 points-per-game, which is No. 9 in the ECAC.
All-time, Gorman now ranks No. 53 in scoring by a Princeton men's hockey player with 624points (21g, 43a) in 82 games. His next point will move him into a tie for 52nd and he is three points away from a tie for 49th.
NO SURRENDER
There was no retreat from senior defenseman Noah de la Durantaye last season as he had career highs in points (18) and assists (15) while his three goals were one away from his career high. He is Princeton's active leader in games played (110) and second in assists (40) and points (53). De la Durantaye has two game-winning goals this season to rank No. 8 in GWGs by a defenseman in the nation.
Entering this weekend, de la Durantaye is tied for 81st all-time on Princeton's career scoring list with 53 points (13g, 40a) in 110 games.
Among defenseman, de la Durantaye is No. 11 all-time in points and No. 10 in assists and is alone in No. 15 in goals.
THE 'E' STREET SHUFFLE
There were some sparks flying in E's crease as Ethan Pearson made 50 saves and allowed just two goals in a 1-0-1 weekend at Yale and Brown to earn ECAC Goaltender of the Week honors.
He was back in business against Bentley, stopping 61-of-62 shots faced en route to a pair of wins to again earn ECAC Goaltender of the Week accolades.
Recently, he won both games of the Harvard/Dartmouth trip to help Princeton sweep that weekend for the first time since 2010.
Pearson is 5-5-1 overall this season and boasts a 2.24 GAA and a .918 save percentage. His GAA is No. 3 in the ECAC and ranks No. 20 in the country, and he is No. 2 in the ECAC in save percentage and No. 21 in the country.
WE TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN
When a Tiger is in trouble and finds themselves in the sin bin, the penalty kill has stepped up and taken care of business as the Tigers are 29-for-35 (82.9%) on the penalty kill over their last 14 games and 18-for-22 (81.8%) over their last nine. That run of staunch PKs has moved Princeton up to No. 6 in the ECAC at 80.0% overall.
IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND
Princeton struggled out of the gate last season, being outscored in the first period by an 42-21 margin over its 30 games during the 2023-24 season. So far this season, Princeton has evened up (15-15) the goal differential in the first period. The Tigers are 6-3-1 when leading after one period and 0-7-0 when trailing through twenty minutes.
EASY MONEY
It's been easy for E-Z lately as Jaxson Ezman has set a new career high in points with 11 -- including six over his last seven games. Among those points over his last five outings are a pair of game-winning goals against Bentley (1/25) and Dartmouth (2/1).
BETTER DAYS
These are better days for senior Alex Konovalov who has set a career high with seven points this season, tallying 1 goal and 6 assists in 20 games. He has assists in five of his last eight games. This comes after tallying six total points -- all assists -- over 43 games during his first three seasons.
WAITING ON A SUNNY DAY
Princeton fans have been waiting on the return of David Ma since the end of the 2022-23 season and he returns to the defensive corps for his junior season after missing all of last season as he dealt with an injury that had limited him to just 35 games over his first two seasons. He had 7 points (2g, 5a) in 18 games in 21-22 before adding 4 assists in 17 games in 22-23. A puck-moving defenseman, Ma won a Clark Cup with the Chicago Steel in 2021 and played for Team USA at the 2019 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup. He has 11 points (5g, 6a) in 23 games this season -- scoring at Brown (11/16) for his first goal in 1,099 days dating back to 11/13/21 at LIU before adding two goals against RPI on 12/7.
Ma recently had a three-point game at Harvard (1g, 2a) to earn ECAC Defenseman of the Week honors.
THE RISING
Already through 23 games this season, Nick Marciano's career high in points has started rising. He has nine points (1g, 8a) in 23 games after posting four total points over his first 48 games.
