Princeton Falls to Penn, 31-7

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – With Luke Stout and Blaine Bergey earning wins in the match, the Princeton wrestling team fell to Penn, 31-7, on Sunday afternoon at the Palestra.
At 165, Bergey got the Tigers on the board as he battled to a decision over Andy Troczynski, earning a takedown to get the lead and win the match 4-1.
Stout also dominated his bout with Nate Taylor, making takedown after takedown to get the tech, 19-4. The tech fall is Stout's eighth this season, defeating six of his last nine opponents by TF.
Ty Whalen also had a close match with no. 16 Cross Wasiliewski, as the two found themselves tied at one apiece as the regulation clock ran down. That score stood until there were less than 30 seconds remaining in the sudden victory period, when Wasiliewki earned a takedown to get the sudden victory win.
At 184, Kole Mulhauser dropped a narrow contest with no. 19 Maximus Hale, as Hale outlasted him 4-3.
With the dual meet season concluded, Princeton will return to the mat at George Mason next Sunday for the Patriot Last Chance Open, before turning its attention to the inaugural Ivy Wrestling Tournament in Jadwin on March 9.
