PRINCETON, N.J. – After two weeks on the road, the Princeton men's volleyball team will return to Dillon Gym this weekend for matchups against no. 19 NJIT and no. 18 Lincoln Memorial. The Tigers will face off against the Highlanders on Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on the LMU Railsplitters on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Tigers will face off against the Highlanders on Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on the LMU Railsplitters on Saturday at 4 p.m.
About the Tigers
- Princeton is coming off of a split series with Charleston in West Virginia, where the Tigers fell 3-1 on Friday before coming back to win 3-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19) on Saturday.
- Nyherowo Omene had a huge day, registering 27 kills in game two for .535 hitting. His performance put him at second nationally in single game high kills, and earned him EIVA Offensive Player of the Week honors - his second this month.
- Omene now leads the EIVA in kills per set, with 4.06, and service aces per set, with 0.52. The senior also leads the Tigers and ranks fourth in the league with .375 hitting.
- Omene leads the EIVA and is fifth in the nation in career service aces (active) with 116 total. Omene has also become a career leader in kills, currently ranking 12th nationally in division I with 839 total.
- Fellow senior Henry Wedbush leads the Tigers in assists with 304 on the season and 9.21 per set, which is good enough for third in the EIVA.
- Rice has had a strong start to his collegiate career, currently averaging 3.14 kills per set which puts him at seventh in the league.
- Roan Alviar leads Princeton in digs, averaging 1.86 per set with 67. He now ranks third in the EIVA.
- The Tigers were picked to finish fourth in the EIVA preseason standings.
- Omene and Wedbush were named to the 2025 EIVA Players to Watch list. Both seniors were named to the All-EIVA First Team at the conclusion of last season.
- Joining the Tiger squad this year are five newcomers in the class of 2025, including Alviar, Ambrose Engling, Rice, Kevin Yang and Ethan Wells.
- First-years Alviar and Engling were named to the 2025 VolleyballMag Boys Fab 50 list.
- Princeton ended the 2024 season with a trip to the EIVA quarterfinals and an AVCA ranking of 18 in the final coaches' poll. The Tigers went 12-12 overall and 5-5 in conference play.
- Sophomore captain Tristan Whitfield was named the 2024 EIVA Freshman of the Year. Now entering his sophomore season, Whitfield led the EIVA in blocks last year with 80.0 while also recording 23 digs, 65 kills (1.08 per set), and six service aces.
- The Tigers are led by Sam Shweisky, who has coached the Tigers to 2 EIVA Championships and 6 EIVA Finals. Shweisky is in his 16th year as head coach of the Princeton men's volleyball program, and he is assisted by Joe Norton in his second year.
About No. 19 NJIT
- Just two weeks after facing the Tigers at home, the Highlanders will make the trip down to Princeton for a rematch in Dillon Gym. The Highlanders are 8-8 on the season and 2-2 in the EIVA.
- On February 14, Princeton earned a big road win over the No. 19 ranked Highlanders in Newark, taking the match 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 26-24, 25-20).
- Braeden Goebbert leads the EIVA with .532 hitting this season so far.
- Bruno Figueiredo leads the league in assists with 389 for 10.51 a set.
- Princeton holds the 31-9 all-time advantage over NJIT in the series that dates back to 2002.
About No. 18 LMU
- LMU is 11-1 on the season, most recently sweeping Fort Valley State University on Friday.
- Axel Van Baars leads the Railsplitters in kills, averaging 2.70 a set.
- John Luers leads LMU with 447 assists on the season for an average of 9.93 a set. Luers also leads LMU with 1.93 digs a set.
- Princeton dropped the last and first-ever contest with the Railsplitters, falling 3-1 last season.
