
Women's Basketball Falls in Ivy Semifinal to Harvard, 70-67

PROVIDENCE – The Princeton Women's Basketball Team dropped a heartbreaker to the Harvard Crimson, 70-67, in the Ivy League Tournament Semifinal.
A Skye Belker three-pointer with 1:54 to go cut the Tigers' deficit to one, 68-67. After a missed shot from Harvard and turnover by Princeton, the Crimson's Abigail Wright's layup made it 60-57 with 38 seconds to go. The Tigers had two shots to tie the game but couldn't hit, giving Harvard the victory.
The Crimson started off the game with six of eight points before Princeton ripped off an 11-2 push to go up, 13-8. The Tigers eventually led 15-11 after 10 minutes.
An Ashley Chea three-point play put Princeton up double digits for the first time, 26-16, with 6:03 to go. The Tigers maintained a double-digit lead before a quick Harvard sprint saw it turn into a two-point contest, 33-31. The Tigers led 36-31 at halftime.
Head coach Carla Berube's squad opened the second half with a 12-4 run, making it a 48-35 lead with 5:43 to go in the third stanza, but Harvard responded by cutting the deficit to one, 54-53, as the fourth frame got underway.
Skye Belker led the Tigers with 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Ashley Chea added 15 points while Fadima Tall had 11 points in the loss. Harvard's Harmoni Turner led all scorers with 44 points in the win.
The Tigers at 21-7 along with a Net Ranking of 47 and four combined quad 1/2 victories will wait for the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
