No. 11 Women's Water Polo Splits During Day Two Of Aztec Invite

SAN DIEGO – The No. 11 Princeton Women's Water Polo Team split its final two games on its Spring Break trip.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's group earned an impressive 18-7 victory over the CSUN Matadors before falling to the No. 15 Indiana Hoosiers, 14-13.
Princeton 18, CSUN 7
Olivia Krotts got the first goal of the game for Princeton and sparked a 4-0 run before CSUN got on the board.
To kick off the second quarter, Krotts again sparked a steady stream of goals for the Tigers, as the squad found the back of the cage six times.
Lindsey Lucas held the Matadors to just one goal in each frame as Princeton held a 9-2 lead after the first 16 minutes of play.
Kayla Yelensky and Shanna Davidson were both able to score in the third to give them each a hat trick in the contest.
The fourth saw five different goal scorers for the Tigers as Princeton went on to claim a dominant 18-7 victory.
Davidson led the offense with four goals while Rachael Carver and Yelensky followed with three apiece.

The two teams went back and forth in the first quarter before Grace Klingler's tally gave the Hoosiers a 4-3 lead after eight minutes.
After Yelensky's goal got the Tigers within two, 7-5, the Hoosiers finished the first half with two goals, settling the contest at 9-5 at the break.
Trailing by five, three consecutive goals by Ava Houlahan and Yelensky closed the gap to two, 11-9, with 3:27 left in the third quarter. The Tigers trailed 12-9 as the fourth stanza began.
Consecutive goals from Carver made it 14-13 with 1:18 to go, but the Tigers couldn't find the equalizer.
Princeton had four multi-goal scorers with Yelensky leading all scorers with five. Emese Batizi, Davidson and Carver each had two tallies in the loss.
