Baseball Picks Up First Conference Win Over Dartmouth In Home Opener

Nick Shenefelt led the way for the offense just a home run short of the cycle in a 3-for-4 day. The freshman got the scoring started with a sac-fly in the bottom of the third to plate the first run for the Tigers.
Dartmouth knotted up the score at 1-1 in the fifth. That score would not stand long as Caden Shapiro touched home for the second time in the matchup thanks to Jake Bold's first triple of the season.
Jake Kernodle reached first and Shenefelt ripped a single through the right side to bring Bold across the dish for a 4-1 lead.
The Big Green took a one run lead thanks to three in the top of the sixth, two of which were unearned.
Starter Andrew D'Alessio ended his day after 6.0 innings of work and allowed three earned runs while striking out two.
The Tigers responded immediately in the sixth with a RBI base knock from Kernodle and an RBI double from Shenefelt as the score stood at 6-5. Princeton added insurance runs in both the seventh and the eighth as Justin Kim closed out the game on the mound and recorded his first save of the season.
