March 25, 2025 | Men's Track and Field
PRINCETON, N.J. – Casey Helm was named Ivy Athlete of the Week in the first outdoor season weekly awards, the Ivy League announced Tuesday.
The honor comes after Helm opened the season with a new personal record in the discus throw at the Penn Challenge on Saturday.
Helm threw a mark of 59.90m/196-06", improving over one meter from his previous best of 58.72m/192' 8" from last April. The mark puts him at third all-time in Princeton history.
Helm also won the shot put at the Penn Challenge with a mark of 18.17m/59-07.50", earning him ninth on the Princeton all-time leaderboard.
The weekly award marks the career first for the junior, who was the 2024 discus throw Ivy Champion, a 2024 NCAA Qualifier and Second Team All-America honoree.
Helm and the Tigers will be back in action this weekend at the Monmouth Season Opener in West Long Branch, N.J.
