No. 14 Women's Water Polo Secures Split At DeNunzio

PRINCETON – The No. 14 Princeton Women's Water Polo Team earned a split during action at DeNunzio Pool today.
No. 22 Brown 12, No. 14 Princeton 11
Hanna Tidrenczel's goal with seven seconds to go gave Brown the win as the Bears railed from 11-8 fourth quarter deficit.
Princeton ripped off the three of the first four goals before Brown evened the contest at 3-all after eight minutes. After the two teams exchanged goals, Kayla Yelensky and Rachael Carver tallies put the Tigers in front, 7-5, at halftime.
After a Brown goal to begin the second half, Ava Houlahan, Olivia Krotts and Ally Lurie extended the Princeton advantage to four, 10-6. The home team led 10-8 as the fourth stanza got started.

No. 14 Princeton 12, No. 9 Harvard 8
After a defensive battle that saw just one Harvard tally in the first eight minutes, both teams exploded for nine combined goals in the second quarter. Back-to-back goals from Yelensky to end the first half put Princeton in front, 6-4. Yelensky scored a hat trick during the second stanza.
Carver started the second half with a tally before Harvard got within one twice. Yelensky's goal made it 9-7 as the fourth frame got underway.
Ahead 10-8, tallies by Carver and Ava Houlahan put the game away as Princeton's defense kept Harvard off the scoreboard for the final 5:20 of game action.
Princeton finishes off the weekend against Mercyhurst Sunday at 10 a.m. Before the game, the team will honor the Class of 2025.
