Princeton Women's Water Polo Celebrates Class of 2025 This Weekend At DeNunzio

PRINCETON – The Princeton Women's Water Polo team hosts a Collegiate Water Polo Association weekend at DeNunzio Pool.
Princeton takes on No. 22 Brown (11 a.m.) and No. 9 Harvard (5 p.m.) before battling Mercyhurst on Sunday at 10 a.m. Sunday is Senior Day where head coach Derek Ellingson's squad will honor Kate Mallery, Rachael Carver, Grace Houlahan and Kayla Yelensky.
Those four are one of only of five classes at Princeton to win two conference titles, earning CWPA crowns in 2023 and 2024. Overall, the Tigers have won 87 games during the Class of 2025's time at Princeton, securing a .769 winning percentage while also going 31-6 against conference opponents in the regular season, good for a .837 mark.
Yelensky leads the Tigers with 59 goals this season, adding 30 drawn ejections, 12 steals and 12 assists. Recently named to the Cutino Award Watch List, the utility player has 243 tallies in her career which places her fifth in program history, 29 shy of the second place Elyse Colgan '07. The senior has scored in every game, recording 13 hat tricks this season. She is just 10 goals shy of her career high, 69 and is currently averaging 3.3 tallies per contest.
Ellingson's team has 10 players with at least 10 goals in Yelensky (59), Carver (27), Ava Houlahan (25), Shanna Davidson (24), Emese Batizi (18), Olivia Krotts (16), Kendall Wyer (12), Kate Mallery (12), Charlotte Riches (11) and Ally Lurie (10). Lindsey Lucas is 12-5 in the cage for the Tigers, adding a .550 save percentage and 164 stops.
The Tigers are 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the CWPA. The squad's only loss in conference is to No. 18 Harvard on the road. Princeton has seven wins against ranked foes this season.
