MacDonald Ties Program Record With 10 Points As No. 12 Women's Lacrosse Dominates No. 22 Harvard
March 08, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
Jami MacDonald became part of Princeton Women's Lacrosse history during the Tigers' 20-6 win over Harvard, tying the program record for points in a single game with 10 as the No. 12-ranked Tigers opened Ivy League play with a dominant victory against the No. 22-ranked Crimson.
MacDonald evenly distributed her points between five goals and five assists, becoming the fourth player in program history to reach the 10-point plateau in a single game and first since Catherine McCarthy did so in 1989.
The margin of victory for Princeton is its second-largest over Harvard and biggest since a 20-5 win at Sherrerd Field in 2017.
Princeton has extended its winning streak to five games after dropping its season opener. Over its last three games, the Tigers have outscored opponents 56-17.
The Tigers never trailed in the game, but were engaged in a close battle over the opening portion of the first quarter which saw the contest tied at 3-3 with 6:25 to play in the first period.
After that, it was all Princeton.
The Tigers took that 3-3 deadlock and turned it into a 13-3 cushion by holding the Crimson scoreless for 33:13. By the time Harvard mustered a pair of goals late in the third quarter, all that did was cut Princeton's lead to eight.
Even then, Princeton countered that two-goal Harvard spurt with six more of its own to firmly salt away the game.
Amelia Hughes made 11 saves in goal and gave up just six goals.Â
Dylan Allen had three ground balls, while Paige Vegna added two on the defensive side.
The Tigers are on the road for their next four games, starting with a trip to Rutgers on March 12 at 7 p.m.

When all was said and done, MacDonald factored in on 50% of her teams goals to improve Princeton's overall record to 5-1 and give the Tigers a 1-0 start to Ivy League play and a second win over a ranked team this season. The Crimson, who had knocked off No. 15 Navy and No. 23 UConn in its two most recent outings, fall to 3-2 overall.Perfect ??!
