No. 6 Women's Lacrosse Runs Win Streak To 11 With 17-6 Win Over Columbia
April 12, 2025 | Women's Lacrosse
No. 6 Princeton (11-1, 4-0 Ivy) was slow to start, but found its footing in the middle stretch of the game en route to a 17-6 win over Columbia (4-9, 0-5 Ivy) at a rainy Sherrerd Field.
The Tigers found themselves in a 2-2 game after one quarter, but eventually dialed up an 8-0 run that broke the game open to increase Princeton's all-time record over the Lions to 28-0.
The Tigers have now won 11 games in a row, the program's longest winning streak since the 2019 team also won 11 in a row from 4/2 to 5/12.
Princeton's offense was spread out among 11 different players who scored at least one goal including Maddie Mitchell and Maggie Bacigalupo who each scored their first career goals.
McKenzie Blake had two goals, giving her 60 for the season and 202 for her career – seven away from tying the program's all-time goals record.
Haven Dora led all scorers with four points, scoring a hat trick – each in the second quarter – and adding an assist.
Sophie Whiteway and Kendall Dean each had two goals as well for the Tigers.
Abigail Roberts had six draw controls in the game, adding a caused turnover and a fast-break goal off one of those six draw controls.
Princeton's defense was on lock for two long stretches, putting together runs of 17:47 and 19:18 without allowing a goal to enable the attack to find its footing and secure the win.
