Four Set New PRs as Tigers Begin Competition at 44 Farms Invitational

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – The Princeton women's track and field team began competition at the 44 Farms Team Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M, on Friday. Four Tigers set new personal bests as the Tigers had a strong performance on day one of the meet.

Adelaide Asante set a new personal record in the 400 hurdles, running 59.63 for sixth place at the meet. Her time improves her mark at seventh in the all-time Princeton record book.

Layla Giordano set a new personal best in the shot put, throwing 15.05m/49-4.5" for 12th place.

Shantell Kwofie hit a personal best in the heptathlon 100mH, clocking in at 14.03 for 10th place.

Georgina Scoot jumped a season-best 6.16m/20-2.5" in the long jump, taking second at the meet.

Also in the heptathlon, Mirtel Klaar set a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 10.90m/35-9.25". With four events scored, she stands in ninth place in the overall standings.

The Tigers will continue competition at Texas A&M tomorrow as they close out the 44 Farms Invitational. The day will begin with the heptathlon long jump at 11:30 a.m. CT.
