Baseball Erupts For 20 Runs In Win Over Rider

Caden Shapiro knocked two home runs in a 3-for-6 day at the plate with four RBI. Jake Bold followed suit, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Princeton got its first run on a groundout in the top of the second but Rider tacked on two in the bottom of the frame.
Bold singled to right to tie things up at two apiece in the fourth before the Tigers took a lead they would never relinquish in the sixth. Princeton plated seven runs in the inning, including the first Shapiro long ball of the day.
The Broncs put up three runs in the bottom of the sixth but left two stranded to make it a 9-5 ballgame.
The Princeton offense poured it on again with five runs on two hits– Shapiro's second home run and two-RBI single from Tommy Googins.
The Tigers closed out the game in style with a six-run ninth inning on five hits. Grant Werdesheim brought in two on a long double and Bold knocked his fifth homerun of the season.
This was the first time Princeton has scored 20 or more runs since 2022 when the Tigers racked up 21 runs against Towson.
Princeton will be back at Clarke Field for the final home series of the season when it hosts the Brown Bears.
