Yelensky Named CWPA MVP; Six Tigers Earn All-CWPA Honors

PRINCETON – The Princeton Women's Water Polo Team had six members named to the CWPA All-Conference Teams, the conference announced today.
Kayla Yelensky was honored as the CWPA Most Valuable Player. She marks the third straight different Tiger to be picked for the award and fourth overall (Ashleigh Johnson in 2015, Jovana Sekulic in 2023 and Lindsey Lucas in 2024). Yelensky leads the team in scoring with 89 goals and 109 points overall, adding 44 drawn ejections and 19 steals. Her 89 tallies are the fourth most in a single season in program history while her 273 career goals are the second highest by a Princeton Tiger.
The senior captain has scored in all 26 games this season and has produced 18 hat tricks. Her career-high seven goals helped the Tigers take down No. 21 Brown in February. She has recorded four CWPA Player of the Week honors this season while collecting her fourth career all-conference laurel and third first-team selection.
Lindsey Lucas was named first-team all-conference for the third straight campaign. The junior captain has appeared in 23 games with 22 starts, corralling a 16-6 record with a .550 save percentage and 221 stops. She has 10 games with at least 10 saves including 17 in the victory over No. 15 UC Santa Barbara. She had three CWPA Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2025.
Ava Houlahan picked up first-team all-conference for the first time in her career after posting a personal-best 36 goals. The junior also put up 30 steals and 25 steals for the No. 1 seeded Tigers. Houlahan snagged nine multi-goal performances including five in a 10-9 victory over No. 9 Michigan.
Rachael Carver nabbed her second all-conference selection with being named second-team. The senior captain is second on the squad in points with a career-high 42 goals along with 52 assists, 25 steals and 24 drawn ejections. She produced helpers in all but two contests with 13 multi-assist outings. Her 252 assists are the most in program history. Carver has 14 multi-goal performances with five hat tricks including five in a victory at LMU. She earned two CWPA weekly accolades in 2025.
Shanna Davidson was named honorable mention all-conference as she has produced almost an even split of goals (36) and assists (35) along with a team-best 50 drawn ejections. She has 12 multi-goal outings and 11 multi-assist games with her one of her signature contests being a three-goal, four-assist performance vs. Saint Francis. Davidson earned her first player of the week nomination this season to go with her first all-conference laurel.
Olivia Krotts was named honorable mention all-conference after recording 22 goals, 17 assists and 33 drawn ejections. Krott's signature moment was the game-winning goal vs. No. 12 LMU with 19 seconds to go. She had six-multi-goal games including four vs. Iona.
Princeton heads to the CWPA Tournament this weekend. The Tigers will take on the winner of Brown and Bucknell on Saturday at 1 pm in the CWPA Semifinals.
