Lucas and Golub Nab CWPA Weekly Honors; Tigers Ready For CWPA Championships

PRINCETON – The No. 13 Princeton Women's Water Polo Team is set for the CWPA Championships this weekend at the University of Michigan.

No. 2 seeded Tigers will open the CWPA Championships on Friday against No. 7 seeded Saint Francis at 4:30 p.m. The winner of this game will take on the winner of No. 3 seeded Michigan and No. 6 seeded Mercyhurst at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The CWPA Championship contest is Sunday at 12 p.m.
Princeton just missed out on a three-peat for the CWPA title in 2025 after falling to Harvard, 10-8, in overtime. The program is seeking its seventh conference title this weekend.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's team is 22-5 this season and recorded 10 victories over ranked opponents. The squad's signature win was a 9-8 decision over No. 10 Michigan at DeNunzio on Mar. 21 on Senior Day.
Shanna Davidson was most recently named CWPA Most Valuable Player, becoming the fourth consecutive Tiger to earn that award. She is in the middle of a career year with a personal-high 64 goals, 45 assists, 51 steals, and 24 sprint wins.
Didi Evans was picked as the CWPA Rookie of the Year, the first Tiger to collect that since Lindsey Lucas in 2023. Evans leads the team in points with 117 points, contributing 41 goals and team-best 76 assists. She is five helpers shy of Rachael Carver's program single-season record of 81.
Lucas earned her fourth all-conference award and second first-team laurel after going 17-5 for the Tigers with a .565 save percentage and 222 saves. Her signature game was an 18-save performance vs. No. 25 Pomona-Pitzer, allowing just one goal. The senior captain has 13 10+ save outings including a current stretch of four of five. Lucas also nabbed her 28th career CWPA weekly honor as she was selected as CWPA Defensive Player of the Week.
Olivia Krotts was named first team all-conference after picking up career highs in goals (57) and drawn ejections (62). Krotts has more than doubled her career tallies as she came into the season with 45 in her first two campaigns.
Ava Houlahan was picked for the second team all-conference as she has matched her personal best with 41 goals, along with 33 assists, 29 steals and 15 blocks. The senior captain had 11 multi-goal games including four tallies vs. Santa Clara (Jan. 31) and No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer (Mar. 14).
Ally Lurie was named CWPA Honorable Mention All-Conference, her first all-conference honor. She has recorded 18 goals, 26 assists and 22 steals for the Tigers.
Other top performers for the Tigers include Vivian Golub, who earned CWPA Rookie of the Week this week. She has 41 goals, 22 assists and 18 steals in freshman campaign. Charlotte Riches has posted 36 goals and 49 drawn ejections while Kendall Wyer has contributed 29 tallies and 24 dimes.
