Women's Lightweight Rowing To Open 2025 At Radcliffe

PRINCETON, N.J. – The pursuit of a fourth-consecutive Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Commissioners' Cup begins on Apr. 5 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the Charles River against Radcliffe for the Princeton University women's lightweight rowing team. The Tigers will aim to win a sixth straight Class of 1999 Cup.
Last time they met, on Apr. 6, 2024, at Lake Carnegie, the 1V collected its fifth straight Class of 1999 Cup, rowing across the line at 6:54.6, ahead by 3.3 seconds. Additionally, the varsity four and 2X also triumphed over Radcliffe.
Princeton and Radcliffe competed annually since the Tiger women's lightweight program began in 1999. In addition to winning the Class of 1999 Cup for the past five seasons, Princeton holds and 18-6 lead in the all-time series.
2024 saw the Tigers win the Commissioners' Cup as the top women's lightweight point total for the third straight season (67 points) by one over Stanford (66 points). Additionally, 2024 was the first time in program history Princeton's 1V collected four straight gold medals at Eastern Sprints. Prior to the Tigers, the last team to four consecutive golds was Wisconsin, who won six in a row from 2005-10.
