Zach Vachal Named Academic All-Ivy League

PRINCETON, N.J. – Zach Vachal of the No. 5 Princeton University heavyweight rowing team was named Academic All-Ivy League Thursday afternoon, as the conference office announced its academic honors for the 2025 season.
The academic honor is the fourth of Vachal's career, as he was named an Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRCA) Scholar Athlete in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Vachal, a computer science major, helped the 3V win bronze at Eastern Sprints on May 18 in Worcester, Massachusetts, which contributed to the Tigers' second place finish in the team standings. He rowed on the 1V in every race, and helped Princeton earn a Lake Carnegie best time and win the Content Cup against No. 4 Brown. Vachal was also part of wins against No. 8 Yale, the No. 10 University of Pennsylvania, No. 15 Navy, No. 16 Georgetown, No. 18 La Salle and No. 24 Temple.
Vachal and the Tigers will wrap up 2025 at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships from May 30 – June 1 at the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey.
