Three From Women's Rowing Advance To Grand Finals at U-23 World Championships

PRINCETON – The Princeton Women's Rowing Team had three members advance to U-23 World Rowing Championships Grand Finals.

Joely Cherniss and the United States eight easily took care of business in its heat, crossing the line first at 6:06.53. Canada was second at 6:11.49. Michaela Ulicna '29 and the Czech Republic were third at 6:12.03. Both Tigers' boats row in the Grand Final on July 27th at 6:12 a.m.

Ellie Smith and the United States four won its heat at 6:53.28, almost three seconds in front of Romania (6:56.13). The U.S. four rows in a semifinal on Friday at 9:57 a.m. with the finals set for Saturday.

Olivia Cheesmur '29 and Great Britain's 4x took home close to a three-second victory (6:26.67) over Germany (6:29.95) in its heat to advance to the Grand Final on July 27th at 5:50 a.m.

Phaedra van der Molen (Netherlands 2X) advanced to the semifinals of her event. She and Jente Jongsma placed third in their race at 7:06.89. That group will race in the second semifinal at 9:22 am on Friday with the finals scheduled for Saturday.
