Caponiti, Yeager Honored By Ivy League
September 22, 2025 | Field Hockey
A Princeton field hockey weekend sweep led to a Monday afternoon sweep of a different kind.
Fresh off wins over Penn and UConn, Princeton junior goalie Olivia Caponiti and senior forward Beth Yeager earned the Ivy League's weekly awards, with Caponiti the Defensive Player of the Week and Yeager the Offensive Player of the Week.
Caponiti posted back-to-back shutouts while making seven saves between the two games, including a huge fourth quarter save against Penn to keep it a 1-0 game and then two one-on-one saves against UConn after Tiger turnovers. Caponiti now has three straight shutouts and four straight games without allowing a goal in regulation, and the only goal she's allowed in the last 271 minutes came on a penalty stroke in overtime against Syracuse. She currently ranks sixth in Division I with a 0.79 goals against average.
Yeager ranks fourth among active Division I players in career with 48 and is tied for second among active Division I players with 29 assists. She is the only current player in Division in the top five for career goals per game and career assists per game.
Princeton will host Harvard in a huge Ivy League matchup Friday at 5.
