Tigers Drop Hard-Fought Dual to #20 Lehigh
January 18, 2026 | Wrestling
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton wrestling team dropped a hard-fought dual to #20 Lehigh, 30-9, at home in Jadwin on Sunday afternoon.
Eligh Rivera, Rocco Camillaci and Holden Garcia took decision victories in the contest.
Rivera got the Tigers on the board at 149, taking a 7-5 decision over Owen Reinsel despite initially giving up a takedown in the first period. With two stalling points closing the gap, Rivera made an acrobatic two-point reversal in the second period to take the lead. Adding a takedown of his own in the third, Rivera got the win and three points for Princeton.
Camillaci also found himself down 1-0 in the second period, using a double-leg takedown to get three points. As the clock ticked down, Camillaci held a narrow 4-3 lead, but he battled it out to take the decision.
Garcia, on a hot streak of late, also gutted out a come-from-behind decision as he found himself down 4-0 late in the second period. With a clutch takedown, he went down by one, 4-3, into the third period. Just 30 seconds later, Garcia got another takedown to take the lead and ultimately get the decision, 8-4.
McGowan also came close to a win over #5 Sheldon Seymour as he found a takedown with just three seconds left in the match. However, on a Lehigh challenge, the takedown was overturned due to a missed caution call. Without the match-winning three points, McGowan fell, 2-0.
Dan Jones also wrestled hard, holding #5 Ryan Crookham to a 6-1 decision as his defensive skills were tested.
The Tigers will now look ahead to Friday, as they remain at home to kick off Ivy League play by hosting Columbia. The first match is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Jadwin Gym.
