No. 15 Women's Water Polo Takes Down LIU, 13-9

BROOKLYN – The No. 15 Women's Water Polo Team used a 5-0 first half sprint to rally and take down the LIU Sharks, 13-9, at the Steinberg Wellness Center on Wednesday evening.
After the Tigers registered the first goal of the game, LIU ripped off three straight tallies to go up two.
Charlotte Riches and Didi Evans quickly answered to tie the contest at 3-all after eight minutes. The road squad opened with three goals to start the second quarter and eventually took a 6-4 advantage into halftime.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's group began the second half with three of the first four tallies and finished off the third stanza with a three straight to put the game away.
Olivia Krotts and Vivian Golub led the Tigers with four goals each while Lindsey Lucas had 10 stops in the win. Evans tied the program record with seven assists as well. She matches the mark set by Carolina Ardilla in March of 2006 and Helen Meigs in April of 2009.
The Tigers will host the Princeton Invitational next weekend (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).
