No. 20 Women's Basketball Drops Brown. 58-49

PROVIDENCE – The No. 20 Princeton Women's Basketball Team collected its 15th straight victory with a 58-49 takedown of the Brown Bears at Pizzitola Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.
Fadima Tall led the Tigers with 12 points and eight rebounds while Skye Belker (11) and Toby Nweke (10) also contributed double figures in the victory.
An Isabella Wesley bucket at the end of the first quarter gave Brown a 15-9 lead.
Tall knocked down two triples to begin the second stanza to tie the game at 15-all. The two teams exchanged runs before an Emily Eadie trey to end the half gave Princeton a 24-20 halftime advantage.
After Brown opened up the second half with two buckets, Princeton ripped off a 16-3 sprint to go up 13, 40-27, at the 4:48 mark. The Bears closed the gap to six, 41-35, as the fourth quarter started.
In front by four, the Tigers ran out with seven consecutive points highlighted by a Tall And-1 to set the score 54-43 with 3:38 to go.
Brown got within five with 1:17 remaining but Belker hit four from the charity stripe to put the game away.
Princeton improves to 17-1 overall and 5-0 in the Ivy League while Brown falls to 11-6 this season and 3-2 in the conference. This is the fourth time the program has recorded a 15-game winning streak during the Berube era.
The Tigers welcome Columbia (Jan. 30, 6 p.m.) and Cornell (Jan. 31, 5 p.m.) to Jadwin Gym next week. The contest vs. Columbia will be nationally televised on ESPNU and is Future Tigers/Jungle Night. The game vs. Cornell is National Girls and Women in Sports Day/Autism Awareness Day. The PVC is hosting a sports clinic before the Cornell game.
