Lurie Earns CWPA Player of the Week; No. 13 Women's Water Polo Preps For Busy Week

PRINCETON – As No. 13 Princeton Women's Water Polo preps for Villanova and a CWPA weekend, Ally Lurie was honored as the CWPA Player of the Week.
Lurie registered a hat trick and two assists along with two steals in Princeton's 14-2 victory over Iona. This is her first weekly honor with the CWPA. For the season, Lurie has nine tallies and 10 assists for the 9-0 Tigers.
Princeton will take on the Villanova Wildcats on the road Thursday at 7 p.m. Head coach Derek Ellingson's group will then begin CWPA action vs. Mercyhurst (11:30 am) and Bucknell (4:30 p.m.) at Bucknell on Saturday.
The Tigers have won 41 straight games against Villanova dating back to 1997 while also going undefeated against Mercyhurst (9-0). Princeton has collected 15 consecutive wins against Bucknell.
Three of Princeton's nine victories this season have been against ranked foes in No. 22 Marist, No. 23 Cal Baptist and No. 24 Wagner.
Shanna Davidson paces the Tigers in goals (26), steals (19) and sprint wins (10). Olivia Krotts (23), Ava Houlahan (18), Didi Evans (16), Vivian Golub (16) and Charlotte Riches (10) have each scored at least 10 goals. Evans has a team-high 49 points, adding 33 helpers. She has already set a new program single-game record with eight assists vs. Santa Clara.
Lindsey Lucas is 8-0 in the cage with 66 stops and a .559 save percentage for Princeton.
