February 21, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse
No. 9 Princeton (0-1, 0-0 Ivy) opened its 2026 season with a 14-10 loss at No. 19 Loyola (2-2, 1-0 Patriot) as the Tigers could not overcome a dominant second quarter from the Greyhounds at Ridley Athletic Complex.
What was a 2-2 game after 15:00 of play turned into an 11-2 Loyola lead at halftime as the Greyhounds controlled possession with consistent wins at the draw circle to dial up a 9-0 run and take control of the game.
Princeton settled in during the second half, led by five goals over the final 30:00 from Meg Morrisroe, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
Amelia Hughes did everything she could to negate the possession advantage for Loyola, making 12 saves in goal for the Tigers.
In addition to Morrisroe's five-point game on her five goals, the Tigers received a five-point effort from Jami MacDonald who had a hat trick and two assists.
