In addition to the coaches' poll, the RPI rankings were released, with Tigers in all 10 weight classes landing in the top 66. Beyond the six in the coaches' rankings, Rocco Camillaci is 39th at 157, Xavier Giles is 26th at 184, Conor McCloskey is 57th at 197 and Sebastian Garibaldi is 50th at 285.
The Tigers will begin the road to nationals at the Ivy League Tournament on March 8th in New York City.
The Ivy League received 23 total allocations with the following breakdown:
Wrestling through their brackets in New York, the Tigers will fight for qualifying spots in their respective classes.
Returning NCAA qualifiers McGowan and Whalen are likely to be seeded highest amongst the Tigers at the Ivy League Tournament.
McGowan went 2-0 in Ivy League duals this season, picking up wins against Cornell and Penn. The defending Ivy League Champion at 125, McGowan will need a spot in the final match to automatically punch his ticket to nationals.
Ty Whalen went 4-1 in conference duals this season, falling to Columbia's Cesar Alvan while downing all other league opponents with two majors and a tech fall. Three spots are on the line at 165, so a podium finish would send Whalen on to Cleveland.
The official tournament seed assignments will be announced on Monday, March 2, as the path to NCAAs becomes closer and clearer.
With the postseason just 10 days away, the Tigers will now look to put finishing touches on their skillsets and prepare for the conference tournament on March 8.
