Davidson and Evans Nab CWPA Weekly Accolades

PRINCETON – Shanna Davidson (Player) and Didi Evans (Rookie) earned CWPA weekly honors, the conference announced.
Davidson led the Tigers during the Princeton Invitational with 15 goals, adding seven assists, 11 steals and 11 drawn ejections. She matched her personal high with five tallies vs. Mt. St. Mary's before recording a hat trick vs. Santa Clara.
Her best contest of the weekend was a four-goal, two-assist, four-steal and four-drawn ejection game vs. No. 22 Marist. The captain also posted two goals vs. Siena and four points vs. No. 24 Wagner along with five steals.
For the season, Davidson is tied for second on the team with 15 goals, while pacing the Tigers in steals with 14. She also has nine assists, 14 drawn ejections and is 8-3 in sprints. This is her second career CWPA weekly accolade.
Evans led the Tigers during the Princeton Invitational in points with 33, securing 14 goals and 19 assists. She had five points and two steals vs. Mt. St. Mary's. The freshmen also snagged an incredible 12-point contest with four goals and eight assists vs. Santa Clara.
Her eight helpers were a single-game program record, a mark that stood for nearly 20 years as it was set by Carolina Ardilla in March of 2006 before being matched by Helen Meigs in April of 2009 and Evans who tied the record on Jan. 21.
She followed with four goals and four dimes vs. No. 22 Marist and a hat trick vs. Siena. She finished the Invite with four points and two steals vs. No. 24 Wagner.
Evans leads head coach Derek Ellingson's squad with 40 points overall and 26 helpers while corralling 10 steals. She has won consecutive CWPA Rookie of the Week laurels.
Princeton heads to the Villanova Invitational on Saturday to take on No. 23 Cal Baptist (10:45 a.m.) and Gannon (4:15 p.m.).
