Tosan Evbuomwan ’23 Named NBA G League Finals MVP

STOCKTON, Calif. – Princeton University men's basketball alumnus Tosan Evbuomwan '23 was named NBA G League Finals MVP after guiding the Greensboro Swarm to a 2-0 sweep of the Stockton Kings.
Evbuomwan, who is on a two-way deal with the Charlotte Hornets, joins Devin Cannady '20 as former Tigers to be named NBA G League Finals MVP, after Cannady led the Lakeland Magic to an NBA G League title in 2021.
The Swarm became the first NBA G League Champion since 2022-23 to sweep the entire playoff bracket, among non-single-elimination format.
Evbuomwan joined the Hornets with 50 games of NBA experience, including eight starts, across three seasons with New York, Brooklyn, Memphis and Detroit. He holds career averages of 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 20.8 minutes-per-game.
Named 2022 unanimous Ivy League Player of the Year, Evbuomwan guided the Tigers to the 2023 Sweet Sixteen and was named to the NCAA South Region All-Tournament Team. He was also named 2023 Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player, First Team All-Ivy twice and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District twice.

In the series, Evbuomwan averaged 18.5 points-per-game on 50.0% shooting (12-for-24), 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals. In game two, Evbuomwan recorded 22 points, seven rebounds, three rebounds and two steals.
