April 25, 2026 | Heavyweight Rowing
PRINCETON, N.J. – The #3 Princeton University heavyweight rowing team won a third straight Carnegie Cup against #10 Yale and #13 Cornell Saturday at Lake Carnegie.
Presented in memory of Andrew Carnegie by Mrs. Andrew Carnegie in 1921, the Carnegie Cup is rowed for annually by Princeton, Cornell and Yale. The Tigers lead the all-time series with 35 victories to 34 by the Big Red and 28 by the Bulldogs.
"The team stepped up on all levels today and it was great to see every boat come away with a win," said Head Coach Greg Hughes. "We've made some good progress forward over the past few weeks and have just one more regular season race left! We're excited to get back to work as we prepare for Brown this coming weekend."
The 1V (5:39.0) crossed the finish line first ahead of Yale (5:43.6) and Cornell (5:49.6) while the 2V (5:46.3) also earned the win over the Bulldogs (5:50.7) and the Big Red (5:58.4).
