The Princeton men's tennis regular season has two weekends left. Though an 0-3 league start has the Tigers pretty much on the outside of a possible Ivy League championship, there is still a great deal left to play for in these final four matches.
Princeton will host Cornell Friday at 2 and then head into New York City Sunday at 1 to take on Columbia. The Tigers are very much alive for an NCAA tournament spot as an at-large team.
Right now, the ITA rankings have five Ivy teams ranked between 33 and 39, with Princeton at No. 37. The two opponents this weekend are slightly ahead of the Tigers, with Cornell at No. 33 and Columbia at No. 34.
Princeton already owns wins this season over No. 29 Pepperdine, No. 42 North Carolina and No. 43 Miami. Paul Inchauspe is ranked 13th in singles, while he and doubles teammate Landon Ardila are ranked 24th.
The first half of the Ivy season was not kind to Princeton, who won the eight-Ivy-team ECAC tournament in February. This time around, the Tigers have started off with three excruciating 4-3 league losses, to Penn, Harvard and Dartmouth.
