PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton women's track and field team head south for the Spec Towns Invitational in Athens, Ga. on Friday and Saturday. Friday's action will kick off at noon, while Saturday's action will start at 11:30 a.m.
Princeton is coming off a strong showcase as it hosted the Sam Howell Invitational on Saturday.
Coming off a huge performance in the discus last Tuesday night, which saw the sophomore break the Ivy League record and set a new NCAA best with a throw of 59.94m, Layla Giordano dominated again as she set a new outdoor best in the shot put and won the discus.
For her Ivy record, current NCAA #2 mark, and three event wins, Giordano was named Ivy Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
A 4x100 relay squad of Brooke Jackson, Maisha Atkinson, Laila Payne and Franziska Burchett also shined as they set a new meet record of 45.35 to kick off the day. The mark ranks second all-time in the Princeton record book, just off from the program record of 45.19.
Having a day, Atkinson also took second in the 200m. Her time of 23.70 is just .02 seconds off from her personal best 23.68.
At this year's indoor Heps, the Tigers won a historic second-consecutive Ivy League indoor title, marking the program's fifth-straight Ivy title across cross country and track.
The program enters the 2026 outdoor season looking to complete a second-straight Ivy League Triple Crown, so far having won the cross country and indoor Ivy titles this academic year.
At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Alex Kelly and Georgina Scoot both earned First Team All-America honors in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.
Kelly was named the USTFCCCA's Mid-Atlantic Field Athlete of the Year. Associate Head Coach Reuben Jones also earned regional Assistant Coach of the Year.
The Tigers are led by Head Coach Michelle Eisenreich, in her 10th season at the helm. Named the 2026 Indoor Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year, Eisenreich also earned her third-straight Ivy League Coach of the Year award during this indoor season. The 2024-25 Triple Crown was the program's first under her leadership.
