Heavies Have Five Earn Medals At The U23 World Rowing Championships

Duisburg, Germany – The Princeton Men's Heavyweight Rowing Team had five members medal at the U23 World Rowing Championships in the men's four Grand Final today.

Princeton's Tristan Wenger and Marcus Chute led Great Britain to the gold medal, crossing the line at 5:56.1. Matt and Dan Cashman paced Australia to the silver with a 5:58.94. Kian Aminian helped the United States to bronze with a 6:00.26.

That gave Princeton five of the 12 total medalists in the men's four event.

"It was such a thrill to watch that 4- race and see so many of our guys getting it done at the highest level on the world stage," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "Our whole team is incredibly proud of them, and I can tell you it meant a lot to us all to see them standing all together on the medals dock after the race. A huge congrats to Marcus and Tristan: You're World Champions!"

In the 4- B Final, Alan Mitchell helped France to second place while Conor Bohlmann rowed Canada to third place, giving them eighth and ninth place overall.

Isaac Morris '30 paced Great Britain to second place in the B Final for the 2X.

In the M4x, Cy Rosenberg and men's lightweight rower George Dolce took second in their C-Final to secure 14th overall.

The men's eight A Final will take place Sunday at 5:03 am ET (11:03 am local) featuring Alex Perkins (Great Britain), Drew Wilkinson, Taeden Landa (United States) and Ed Nutt (Australia).

Aminian and his 4- boat will row with the women's 4- in the mixed 8+ event along with Mitchell for France at 6:20 am ET (12:20 pm local).
