Ivy League Football to Add Bye Week Beginning in 2027

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Beginning with the 2027 season, Ivy League football will institute a bye week as part of its regular-season schedule as announced by the Ivy League on September 14.

For the 2027 season, league games originally scheduled for Week 6 — the first week featuring exclusively Ivy vs. Ivy competition — will instead be played in Week 1 on Sept. 11. The league-wide bye week will take place the weekend of Oct. 23.

For Princeton fans, this new scheduling format will see the game against Harvard at Princeton Stadium move to Week 1 in 2027. The date for Princeton's 2027 Homecoming Game will be announced in the coming months.

Week 11 – Nov. 20

Options for the implementation of the bye week beyond the 2028 season will continue to be discussed throughout the upcoming year.

Princeton takes on Bryant this Saturday (Sept. 19) at 1 p.m. The Tigers' home opener vs. Albany is the following week on Sept. 26.
