Tiana Carter begins her second season with Princeton Women's Basketball in 2023-24.
The 2022-23 season had Women’s Basketball go 24-6, advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year becoming the first Ivy team to do that since Harvard men's team in 2013 and 2014. After starting the Ivy campaign 0-2, the Tigers ripped off 12 straight before sweeping both games at home in the Ivy Tournament for their second straight crown and earning a bid to the NCAAs. With the team’s victory over NC State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, it marked the first time an Ivy League school has had its men's and women's teams both win in the NCAA in the same year.
Carter came from Bentley where she finished her MBA with a concentration in Law and Taxation. During her two years at Bentley, the Falcons reached the postseason in both seasons, highlighted by a Northeast-10 title and trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2022.
Prior to her time at Bentley, Carter coached at Central Maine Community College, helping the Mustangs go 27-4 and secure a spot in the USCAA Small College Division II National Championship.
Carter graduated from the University of Albany with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and rhetoric in 2018.
The Tigers' assistant coach received several honors from the America East Conference during her four years with the Great Danes. The list included All-Rookie Team in 2015, Sixth Player of the Year in 2016 and both All-Conference third team and All-Defensive Team as a senior.
Albany's all-time leader in blocked shots (154), Carter amassed 986 points, 642 rebounds and 116 steals in 125 career games for Albany while helping the team to three consecutive America East titles.
