El Torky came to Princeton after coaching at the Potomac School since 2021, winning two Mid-Atlantic Championships with the upper school girls team. During or prior to El Torky coaching at the McLean, Va., school, she coached in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area. "The chance to work with one of the great players and coaches in the history of collegiate squash in Gail Ramsay is a tremendous opportunity," El Torky said upon joining the program. "Princeton attracts the top players and students from across the world, something I know from my own family's experience, and I look forward to helping current and future Tigers grow their games and add to the long tradition of success that the program has enjoyed." As a player, El Torky reached a Professional Squash Association high ranking of No. 19, having won 12 professional squash tournaments and competed in more than 70 over her career. Part of the Egyptian national team program from 2002-18, El Torky helped Egypt win a World Junior Women's Championship in 2007 and 2009, a Women's World Championship title in 2008, and a Women's Arab Championship in 2012, captaining the 2009 and 2012 teams. In 2008, El Torky received a presidential Highest Sports Award. As a junior, El Torky held world No. 1 rankings at the U13, U15, U17 and U19 levels, winning four British Junior Open titles and championships at the Pioneer, Dutch, and German Junior Open tournaments.
