Natalie Kim recorded another strong season in the Tiger cage as a junior, posting a 15-7 record with a .582 save percentage. She was twice named the CWPA’s Player of the Week for her performances, and she made 10 or more saves in eight games, including a season-high of 13 in back-to-back games against Maryland in the Southern and Eastern Championships. She was named a first-team All-Southern selection for the third time in her career, as well as a first-team All-Eastern selection for the first time.
Kim was 19-6 for Princeton as a sophomore, when her 206 saves ranked 13th in the nation in saves per game. Kim backed Princeton to eight straight wins to start the season, making a season-high 14 saves in a win against Indiana. Kim had nine games where she made 10 or more saves, including a 13-save performance against Bucknell in the Eastern third-place game. Kim was first-team All-Southern second-team All-Eastern selection.
Kim became Princeton’s starter in goal as a freshman, going 17-7 in 27 games. She made 182 saves en route to being named first-team All-Southern. On three occasions, Kim was forced to make 10 or more saves. She stopped 13 and allowed just one goal in a win over UC San Diego and made 16 saves, one shy of a Princeton record, in a 7-6 win over Hartwick in the ECAC Championship game.
Kim started playing goalie during her freshman year at Palos Verdes, where she lettered all four years and was a three-year starter. In her sophomore season, she had 278 saves and was named the team’s best defensive player and first-team all-league. The following year, she was named the team’s MVP, first-team all-league, second team all-CIF and first-team all-area. She was a co-captain for her senior season, when she led her team to the CIF finals and was named the MVP of the Bay League.
