Carolina Ardila served as one of the Princeton women's water polo team's three captains for the 2010 season and completed her career ranking fifth all-time at Princeton with 70 assists and 12th with 105 career goals. Ardila scored 26 goals in 30 games as a senior and tagged on 12 assists and 19 steals. She scored a season-high of three goals in a win over Sonoma State and added two-goals performances in nine other contests, including wins over Iona, Wagner, Concordia and Maryland. Ardila had two two-assist games, coming in a loss to Michigan and the win over Iona.
Ardila returned to the Tigers in 2009 as a junior after taking two school years off. She ranked fifth on the team in scoring in her return to the Princeton lineup with 22 goals in 30 games played. Ardila also added 12 assists and 19 steals and drew 28 ejections, the third highest total on the team. Ardila scored goals in 17 games, including a season-high three tallies in a loss to Michigan at the Elite Six Invitational. She also added a pair of goals in both of Princeton's game at the Southern Championships. She had a season-high three assists on two occasions, in wins over George Washington and Concordia. She also scored goals in both of those wins.
In the spring of 2006, Ardila's 26 goals ranked third on the team in scoring, and her 32 assists led all Princeton players. Ardila had either a goal or assist in 23 of the team’s 26 games during the season. She had eight two-goal performances, coming in games against Bucknell, UC Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Cal and Michigan. Ardila set a Princeton record, which has since been equalled, with seven assists in a win at Cal State Monterey Bay.
Ardila ranked third on the Tigers as a freshman with 31 goals. She scored her first two collegiate goals in Princeton’s season-opening win over Villanova. She went on to record three goals on four occasions, in wins over Slippery Rock, George Washington, Salem International and Maryland.
Ardila was a first-team All-America selection in 2003 and 2004 and a first-team all-state pick in 2002, 2003 and 2004. She scored 144 goals in her junior year and had 126 goals, 71 assists and 72 steals as a senior. Ardila was also the Florida state MVP in 2003 and 2004.
