Christina Michel was 8-4 in 16 appearances as a sophomore. She stopped 56.8% of the shots she faced during the year. Michel made a season-high 13 saves in a win over George Washington and stopped 10 or more shots on six occasions. She made 12 saves in a win over Harvard and 11 in defeating Concordia.
Michel was 3-4 in 16 appearances as a freshman as she stopped 104 of 183 shots. Michel got her first win by making nine saves in a win over Harvard. She also made 11 saves to top Iona and eight to edge Brown. Her season-high of 16 saves came in a one-goal loss to Michigan. She also had a 13-save performance in a loss to Hartwick.
Michel earned three consecutive CIF championships and three league championships at The Bishop’s School as the team’s goalkeeper. Michel also played for San Diego Shores club team and medaled three times at the Junior Olympics, winning silver in 2006 and bronze in 2003 and 2004. She was also on the Zone team in 2006 and was one of the top-six goalies at Junior National Tryouts.
