Tigers Finish First at Princeton Invitational
October 14, 1999 | Women's Cross Country
Sept. 18, 1999
PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton women played the polite hosts this morning. They sent out invitations. They greeted the four teams who came over to play. And they didn't show off in front of their guests: no one from the Tigers finished first and no one finished second.
But Princeton didn't want to get stepped on, so they stepped on the ground instead. And stepped. And stepped and stepped. And by the end of the day through a coolly efficient team effort, that saw eight Tigers finish in the top twenty, Princeton had scooped up the victory with a low score of 31 points. The next closest team was LaSalle, who finished second with 48.
Courtney Ebersole (Sr.) was the highest-ranking Tiger at third place. She finished with a time of 18:15, just two tenths of a second behind CNJ's Noel Whitall.
